How much does a corporate video cost?

No, a corporate video has no fixed price: shooting time, the number of delivered formats, usage rights, deadlines and crew size can move a quote by a factor of ten.

No. No serious production company will put a fixed or "starting from" price on a corporate video, and that is not a lack of transparency: the price depends on too many variables to fit in an honest price list. So the right question is not "how much does a video cost?" but "which variables set the price of mine?"

Why no price list is honest

The same phrase, "corporate video", covers a filmed interview shot in half a day with two people and a simple 16:9 edit, and a commercial with actors, several shooting days, motion design and five formats cut for social. A price list trying to cover both would be wrong for one of them, and probably for most projects in between.

Which variables move a quote?

Five parameters weigh more than everything else put together:

  • Shooting time - from half a day to several weeks.
  • The number of delivered formats - a single 16:9 export, or up to eight or ten versions (vertical for social, subtitled, short, long).
  • Usage rights - internal use only, or national and even international advertising, and for how long.
  • Deadlines - standard production or rush.
  • Crew size - two people are enough for a simple interview; a commercial with actors, a set and visual effects can involve ten to fifteen.

What orders of magnitude, in practice?

On timing, as an order of magnitude: a simple video (interview, short event coverage) can be delivered in a week; a more ambitious film, with several shooting days, a fuller crew and worked post-production (grading, sound design, motion design), can take several months between the brief and final delivery. The number of delivered formats also weighs directly on the workload: a single 16:9 film is less work than the same film plus five subtitled vertical versions for social.

How do you get a reliable figure?

The only way to get an accurate number is to scope the project: intended length, number of formats, intended use (internal, social, TV, paid media), deadline. Once those are settled, a precise quote can be drawn up, and that is the method applied before starting any project.
